Dear friend,

Jesse here! Founder of Ecoalition, father to two beautiful girls, fellow changemaker, brother, manager, coworker, partner… you get the gist.

I go by many different titles for many different people. But when all is said and done, they represent three things.

People, connection and community.

And that is what Ecoalition is all about.

You may have heard (or read) about my accident in 2018, where I died for two minutes.

Waking up, it was a pretty tough pill to swallow that my body had been through that. All I could think of during my long recovery process was that I had been brought back for a reason.

That’s when it clicked.

If I could be damaged to the point of dying yet still come back to life, then so can the planet, right?

I have always had a deep passion and appreciation for the environment. I was an avid surfer, experienced traveller and lover of all things nature.

Yet my appreciation was hindered by the constant littering. How could people damage something so beautiful? I didn’t understand.

But I was ready to learn. Just because my accident limited my physical ability, it didn’t mean it had to limit the change I could make.

Which is what sparked my idea for Ecoalition.

Your Ecoalition bracelet plants a tree in the Brazilian rainforest that is suffering from a terrible case of deforestation. It also is crafted from recycled materials directly from the ocean and land.

But the impact doesn’t end there.

If you’re a mother, father, sister, brother, friend, partner, colleague or loved one, you hold a lot of power.

Because you know the people, you make up the community, and you form the connections.

Your Ecoalition bracelet is a conversation starter, a habit former, and a way of reminding people that small change adds up to a considerable impact.

It symbolises the change you have already made and the change yet to come.

So, when you’re going through your day, remember to look down at your bracelet to remind yourself of the small changes you can make. That single glance could be all it takes to create a ripple effect of change.

So, now I’ve told my story- are you ready to tell yours?

In fact, I've only just begun telling my story. As a shark attack survivor (who is ironically a huge shark and marine life lover), I have a passion for capturing the sealife on camera.

There’s a whole new world down there, and I’m ready to continue exploring it.

Connect with us on social media to keep up with the latest and greatest of Ecoalition.

Better yet, send in your stories, habits and ideas so that we can continue to inspire each other to do more to help heal our home.

Have a great day,
